BEAUTY FEATURE FRIDAY – ESSIE
Posted on 21. Aug, 2009 in Featured
I’ve been dying to get my nails on some Essie for a while now. I just love their super bright shades! I got to test out this electric cool colour – Perky Purple from the Neon Range. This colour is so much fun and something I’m not sure I’d previously have bought, but trying it on..I’m hooked for a little “In your face colour!” Something I enjoyed about the Essie Range is the thin brush, it really helps for easy and mess free painting.
My lovely make-up artist friend Jade recommends:
1.) Ask your manicurist for “The Squoval”. A shape somewhere between square and oval. A shape that suits pretty much everyone.
2.) A base coat will prolong your manicure and prevent your nails from staining.
3.)Keep your nail colour looking fresh by applying a top coat a couple times a week.
See more nail tips by Jade here, here and here! (That should keep you busy)
So to follow up on Jade’s tips, I tried out Essie’s Protein Base Coat
I’ve never used a base coat unless going for a professional manicure. This base coat is wonderful and really helps prevent that Perky Purple stain my nails. What I like about this base coat, is if you feel nails need a little rest from your glossy lacquers, this base coat will feed your nails while leaving a natural slightly pearly finish to nails for a healthy looking shine.
Essie Good To Go leaves a wonderful shine on nails and is my new best friend since I always paint my nails just before leaving the house, and tend to ding my wet polish on car keys, the front door or digging in my handbag. Speed up the drying process instantly with Essie Good To Go! For more nail protecting products, see here.
Nothing like a little nail colour to bring you right on trend and to update your look. Short neat nails always look best with bright or dark colours. Essie can be found and select chemists. Enjoy painting..
