While you’re man’s hotting up for the rugby, spare yourself the grunts and the tinny sounds of beer cans and come sip on some fine wine and browse through some of my favourite jewelry, clothing and decor designers on Saturday 5 June.
WHO WILL BE THERE:
Lammershoek:
My darling friend Carla (lover of fine organic food, fine wine, shoes and more shoes) will be there to educate you on a few of their Lammershoek Wines, that all boast plenty of sparkling accolades.
Aprilskloof Red Red 2006: An everyday drinking red blend that over-delivers on quality at this price point. A real crowd pleaser catering to the beginner but also complex enough for serious wine drinkers to enjoy. (R40/bottle)
Aprilskloof Sauvignon Blanc 2008: A warm climate Sauvignon Blanc made in the style that young ladies love! A lovely everyday drinking wine. (R35/bottle)
Roulette 2006: A blend of Syrah, Carignan, Grenache and Mourvedre. A classic Rhone-style blend which shows lovely spice and pepper on the nose and remarkable freshness on the palate. Rated 4 stars in the Platter guide since its first release (4 ½ stars 2007). (R95/bottle)
Roulette Blanc 2008: Lightly oaked, naturally fermented blend of Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay and Viognier. A favourite with top restaurants in Cape Town (Jardine, La Colombe, Rust & Vrede). This vintage rated 4 ½ stars in the Platter guide. (R75/bottle)
Tashkaya:
Tashkaya is a wonderfully fresh and eclectic fashion collection conceived by South African designer, Natasha Teplitsky. Born of several influences, Tashkaya captures and combines French, Spanish, Italian, Vintage and Boho styles to create a collection that reflects the carefree, confident and vibrant energy of today’s woman.
I am slowing collecting her whole range! Love!
Teplove fashion pumps:
I love my metallic leather pumps from Teplov. Designed by ballet dancer duo Georges Telitsky of the PARIS OPERA, Cape Town Ballet, and Munich State Opera House, and Diana Cawley of the Cape Town Ballet Co (formerly C.A.P.A.B) and Munich State Opera house, they fit like a glove and are super comfy. Every wardrobe needs pretty pumps, come winter or summer!
Miss Red:
Miss red is your one stop shop for winter must haves from soft silk tunics to casual wrap jerseys, there is something for everyone. I love my navy silk tunic, perfect over leggings or denims, for evening or day wear.
Collect Fine Jewerly:
The Collect Name Necklaces have been selling like hot cakes, perfect for gifts and bridesmaids jewelry. Their little cut out shapes are also too darling, you’ll want one of each they’re so much fun!
Allison Phillips Jewelry:
Ad style and sophistication to your wardrobe with Allison Phillips Jewelry. My signature jewelry piece has to be her short gold vermeil chain necklace. I truly get compliments when ever I wear it. Allison uses the finest in gem stones, silver and gold vermeil materials, she will boast a much larger collection than what I feature in my shop on Saturday.
Kim Gray Imports:
Come and accessorize with pretty Balinese scarves and locally hand made chunky knit scarves. A must have winter accessory! Keep warm, look stylish!
Kathy Mellor:
I’m so excited Kathy is on board, as seen on Design Sponge, (we bow down), Kathy Mellor creates quirky, fresh designs on napkins, table runners and more. She might even surprise us with her new bags. They are gorgeous!
Moroccan Warehouse:
Moroccan cushions, carpets, baskets, pouffes and lots more treasures to come and explore from Moroccan Warehouse.
Simonsig:
Evey girl enjoys bubbles now and then (Ok, more than now and then). We had Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel Brut Rose at out wedding. A truly romantic sparkling, salmon pink and all! Come and taste some Simonsig Kaapse Vonkel and stock up on supplies, there is always a reason to celebrate!
So, come taste some wine and browse. Certain items will be available for purchase on the day, and others will be on order. Sales will be cash sales (there is an ATM across the road), Whoohooo! Somebody stop me!
Our shopping day will be from 10:30 am to 2pm in Newlands Saturday 5 June.
