The future is ….

South Africa, woah, where do I start. Are we famous or what?

You’ve wowed the world with your energy, your generosity, your warm smile, your open arms, your creativity, your passion and yes, your fashion!

We’ve had the biggest shoppers in the world grace our shwe shwe shores, from Becks to Paris and our home girl Charlize and we are now dancing center stage or should I say catwalk, and  I get the feeling we’re still hot on the lips of the Black Eyed Peas. They’ve tweeted, you’ve tweeted and Shakira and Freshly Ground have spread the sweet sounds of Africa from Vh1 to Mtv, from radio’s in small tin cafe windows to the Hollywood Hills…

When your beloved team went out, you supported the next. You dressed up your cars, you wore anything you could to show your support! (creating some haute trends) We showed them the diski dance, the makarapa, the vuvuzela (baaarp) and we showed them spirit!

South Africa, lets keep it up! Lets turn the support to each other! Lets support local! Cause you know what I’m going to say…. local is lekka!

Where to? what is the future… The future is Fashion! Expression, creativity and colour! After all, we are dubbed the Rainbow Nation!

What do I think the future is in fashion?

Besides catwalk heels, new nautical stripes, hot summer denim and loads of dreamy lace which are all hot and on trend for summer at Woolworths,(aha sister, you can look like Carey after a trip to Woolworths!)

I say the future is I CAN! No longer do we have ANY excuse, ‘Oh I’m stuck in South Africa, it’ll never happen’! It’s HAPPENED! It’s time to grow, build, challenge and create! Blogging and tweeting have made fashion so immediate, so exciting, so personal! So I say the future is now! Ke nako (now is the time).
