BEAUTY FEATURE FRIDAY: FRAGRANCE FRIDAY
How fabulous is fragrance? It’s hard sometimes though . . you’ve been taught not to judge a book by its cover, but how can you with fragrance. There are so many fragrances we ‘want’ to love just on their aesthetics, but then find the fragrance doesn’t really work on our skin. Luckily there are loads of beautiful new fragrances on the market . . . it’s the best time of year for fragrance too, nothing like a spritz of perfume on hot, sunkissed, summer skin. Bliss.
November sees the launch of a new ‘Opium’ , Belle D’Opium by YSL. What a beautiful campaign. The notes include Casablanca Lilly, Sandalwood, Gardenia, White Pepper and Jasmine. Watch highlights of the official launch here.
Issey Miyake launches A Scent. How beautiful is the clean, beautifully soft and feminine imagery. Love the very simple bottle too. Jasmine and rose add a softness to this very crisp, clean, fragrance.
With florals big on the fashion scene this summer, fragrance too is inspired by floral notes and design. Estee Lauder launches the new Pleasures Bloom. Tops notes include Pink Grapefruit, Violet Flower and Raspberry while middle notes include, Spicy Green Lilly, Pink Peony, Lychee, Jasmine and Rose, a real bouquet of fragrances with bottom notes including vanilla, Patchouli and musk.
Smells like cocktails. The perfect fragrance for sipping pretty drinks at sunset with the last rays of light on your skin. I love the zesty first bursts of mandarin. So fresh. Bergamot, rose, vanilla and sandalwood all add to create a fun, fresh, florally summer fragrance.
DKNY fans will love the new DKNY BE DELICIOUS. 11 0 000 bottles are sold a day of the crisp, juicy fragrance. A new clear apple revives the spirit and essence of New York City, The Big Apple and its pulse and energy. Read more here.
I’ve blogged about Thierry Mugler’s new fragrance Womanity. If you missed it, check it out here. A fragrance with no ‘Face’ to the name. A women can be anything, and therefore not one women could represent this new fragrance. I was invited to the most incredible food and perfume pairing by Womanity.
A lunch filled with fig induced flavors and caviar topped delights. It was so incredible to taste these flavours and then smelling the perfume with its key notes of the milky, fleshy fig, salty caviar and the fig tree wood and leaves.
It’s a very sweet fragrance, but it changes according to your mood, skin temperature etc. It’s a must try.
Pop down to Woolworths to Smell The Eau de Sisley Fragrances. I would never think to try Sisely. I thought of them more as a skin care line. Go on, do it! AMAZINGLY fresh, crisp, clean and fragrant. Something special there. Read more here.
Happy fragrant Friday xx
