Needing to update your beauty bag, or just feel like a good old pamper? The V&A Waterfront has some of the best beauty fixes in town.
I get my hair highlighted by Sheleene of Tanaz, with Inoa by L’Oreal, at Wayne at The One & Only – I’ve been so happy with the look and feel of my hair since I started almost a year ago. Now, Inoa launches Inio Supreme for more mature hair!
Says L’oreal, “The new age-defying ammonia-free hair color from L’Oréal Professionnel has been specifically designed for very grey hair (70-100%). Expert colorists have created the wide range of shades, which is adapted to the needs of women over 50. From light beiges to chocolate browns and sun-kissed reds, they are all perfect for getting younger-looking color at any age! “
Inoa contains no Imonia, boasts 74 shades, leaves hair shiny and respects the natural oils and balance of the hair. It’s a little more pricey that most hair colouring treatments, but at the end of the day, hair is being looked after and left with luster!
Right next door is Bastien Gonzalez – Rated number one Mani and Pedi by Vogue Magazine. And boy do I agree with them! Again, this is pricier than most Mani/Pedi’s – but the results are long lasting and you leave with baby soft feet, not wanting to touch your bag full of this seasons latest lacquers your toes are sparkling so bright! Watch out for a lovely special coming to my blog soon! See here for bookings and info.
With Cape Town Fashion Week just past, you can bet your top dollar that summer is going to be bright! Vogue rates orange lips! M.A.C was the official make-up sponsor at Fashion week, and colour they were not afraid of. I got to snoop around and photograph the M.A.C artists hard at work back stage.

Ghd were the official Hair Sponsor at Cape Town Fashion Week. ( Frank Fowden and Partners Hair Design at the V&A Waterfront both stock ghd. )
The ghd team gave us a little ‘how to’ for creating this look:
1. Once dry, section your hair into 1cm sections and apply ghd Style Curl Hold Spray (R195) to each section as you are working.
2. Using your ghd Gold Classic styler, gently hold your styler on the hair, pull down until you reach your ears and turn 180 degrees before pulling your styler through the hair. Remember to hold the hair in your other hand the whole time, working slowly to create tight curls.
3. Ensure that the top section of your hair stays smooth and flat by clipping the hair in place above your ears. Once you have finished your curls, rouge these using your fingers by pushing the hair up towards your head.
4. Spray liberally with ghd Style Final Fix Hairspray (R150 for 400ml) to hold the look in place. And voila, here’s your look!
