Last week I introduced you to my fab friend Nicole and we spoke about foundation tips. This week we talk skin care and what we’re loving.
1.) Cleanse and tone the skin: Find out what is best for your skin type. A cream cleanser is best for Dry skin ( I love QMS Medicosmetics Deep Cleansing Cream Cleanser) and a foaming face wash is best for normal to combination skin, remembering to tone the skin after cleansing.
I love Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner which eliminates impurities and dead skin cells while boosting cellular renewal.
2.) Repair: Depending on how old you are, skin can long for a little boost and repair after years of sun exposure, stress, exposure to the elements, smoking etc. Nicole swears by Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair which helps to support the skins continuous repair while preventing future damage. Nicole mentions it smells like vitamins so you know you getting a healthy kick. Am and pm.
I’ve recently been trying the La Mer’s The Concentrate which aids in the skins natural healing process. This is a miracle worker if you suffer from burns, sensitive skin after facial peels, scarring etc. A real life saver.
3.) Eye Cream: Eyes usually reveal the first signs of ageing or tiredness. Nicole recommends Estee Lauder Time Zone Eye Cream for line and winkle reduction as it’s super hydrating with visible results, and new Idealist for a younger eye area. It neutralizes discolouration and dark circles while reducing puffiness.
Perfect after a night out.
I’m loving the Dermalogica Multi Vitamin Power Firm. A silicone based eye cream that can be used on the lips too. It’s super heeling and hydrating on ones lips. Hooked!
4.) Moisturize: Keep skin plump and hydrated with a good application of moisturizer. Nicole loves Clarins Hydra Quench Rich Cream. It’s available as a lotion too if you prefer a lighter texture. Their Hydra Quench Serum is AMAZING if you’re needing that extra moisture boost and radiance.
For night Nicole loves Estee Lauder Time Zone Line Wrinkle Reduction. Skin looses its most moisture at night, so invest in a good night cream.
I swear by QMS Medicosmetics Sport Active Tinted Moisturizer. It leaves sheer coverage and the best glow. Addicted! I’m also enjoying the Yves Rocher 24 Hr Vitality Skin Care Anti Fatigue exclusive to Woolworths. It smoothes fine lines and wrinkles, reduce signs of fatigue and revitalizes the skin. It smells amazing and the texture is thick and satiny.
5.) Exfoliate: Remember to exfoliate twice a week in circular motions avoiding the eye area to get rid of dead skin cells and allow for better penetration of your products. Nicole loves Clinique 7 Day Scrub suitable for all skin types.
I love QMS Medicosmetics Exfoliating Fluid containing high quality fruit acids which dissolves the cellular glue between dead skin cells allowing them to shed. It’s applied to the face with a brush and left on for 15 minutes. A slight tingling may be experienced. If definitely shows results.
6.) Masks: Nicole mixes her masks, using the Clarins Hydra Quench Mask (also love this) to hydrate her cheeks and forehead and then the Pure Empreinte Mask By Lancome for her T Panel to absorb impurities and tighten pores.
I love Dr Hauschka Soothing Face Mask to relieve redness and calm the skin. Fabulous on those horrible underground painful spots to de-flame the nastiness.
So that’s us for this week. Next time we’ll be focusing on Christmas Party looks, Part 1. So stay tuned!
