Last week I went to a delightful and fairly new spa in Camps Bay, Kimya Spa.
I had the Africology Bespoke Facial. Firstly I LOVE Africology products. I have the Neroli Body Balm packed with essential oils and is all natural which I rub into my hands and feet before bed.
“This treatment looks at the skin from a holistic perspective. We always keep in mind the hormonal flow in the effective treatment of skin and wellbeing and we use the Africology products as they choose to stay away from ingredients that can mimic estrogens in the body.
We acknowledge that no two people are the same and therefore all of our treatments including our skin treatments are designed with your skin’s needs in mind.” Says Kimya Spa
Whether your skin needs a balancing rose treatment, a vitamin C boost after stressful times, a balancing and refining treatment when too much oil is produced in the skin, or a beautiful anti-aging treatment, your therapist will use the appropriate serums to bring harmony and balance to your skin.
My therapist used the Rose serum on my skin. This provides a hydrating and balancing therapy and is associated with not only balancing the skin but also our emotions. She also used the Hydrating Oil which is an intensive treatment to stimulate the regenerative and reparative process. The antioxidant serum was used around your eyes and lips. This product contains DMAE and Alpha Lipoic Acids as well as other powerful natural antioxidants.
Hot compresses are used on the face to stimulate the skin rather than steamers that Kimya Spa believes can cause broken capillaries.
Besides their facial treatments Kimya Spa do a number of specialised massages including a signature crystal massages, soy candle massages, calabash and bamboo massage. Try out a luxury manicure and pedicure as well as waxing, fully body exfoliation, reflexology and the Fish Therapy.
My skin felt super hydrated and I felt very relaxed after this treatment, not to mention my husband saying, “Did you go for a facial? Your skin is glowing!”
