I was so excited when I heard that Master Chef was coming to South Africa. I loved the Australian show and was eagerly waiting on the edge of my seat for our first episode that aired on M-Net on Tuesday night for the first time..
Aligning themselves with quality ingredients, Woolworths is the official food supplier of the show, whereby contestants will be inspired to create masterful dishes. Viewers can too be inspired to shop & cook like a chef with Woolworths’ exciting interactive online platform, The Pantry.
Some of South Africa’s top food bloggers will be blogging up a culinary storm, sharing their favourite recipes, tips and their interpretation of each weeks theme. Heading The Pantry’s team of bloggers is Hannah Lewry, the assistant food editor of Woolworths’ TASTE magazine, who will share her insights and keep us up to date with what’s happening on the food front.
Joining her are some of South Africa’s favourite food bloggers, like Alida Ryder from Simply Delicious (www.simplydelicious.co.za), Fritz Brand from Real Men Can Cook (www.realmencancook.co.za), Jane-Anne Hobbs from Scrumptious (www.whatsforsupper-juno.blogspot.com) and newcomer Ishay Govender, who won the 2011 Best Food & Wine Blog at the SA Blog Awards for The Food and the Fabulous (foodandthefabulous.com).
With The Pantry you can also experience interactive Video Classrooms and Recipe Of The Week, where you can shop the ingredients at the click of a button. Each week, the contents of the pantry will be updated with content that relates to the theme explored on that week’s episode.
Mmm I think I need to ignore “no carbs” and test out this delicious looking cold mushroom risotto!
Shop the ingredients here, it’s that easy thanks to The Pantry.
So if like me you’re shy to be on TV, Woolworths and The Pantry lets you be your very own Master Chef at home! Happy cooking!
