On Monday I featured our super fun stay at The Alphen Boutique Hotel, if you missed it, read here. Now as I said, there are 3 amazing venues to wine and dine at, you really don’t need to leave once you’ve arrived. Just relax!
The newly revamped Rose Bar is the place to be on a Friday afternoon.Buzzing with locals and international flair, this is the perfect summer chill spot.
We had a tour of the magically eclectic 5 Rooms during the day, and wow, I thought it looked pretty formal. To our surprise when we arrived in the evening, there was such a vibe. The bar was buzzing and the restaurant charming! A relaxed, cosy atmosphere.
The restaurant is made up of 5 rooms and is a heritage site, having had the likes of Mark Twain, Cecil John Rhodes, George Bernard Shaw, Captain Cook and Jan Smuts frequent this luxurious spot in its day. I loved the below room for private functions or parties. I’d love to do this for a birthday party, sipping wine in bohemian decadence.
Our food was delicious, indulging in duck, seafood platters, trios or chocolate and creme brulee’s. Fabulous! I’d love to go back! Look out for their Winter Specials.
Ooh even if you don’t stay over you have to treat yourself to breakfast at the gorgeous La Belle Cafe & Bakery! In winter cosy up by the fire in an old farmhouse style atmosphere, or sit outside under the oaks in the summer sunshine! Love this spot! But perhaps book, it was super popular!!
We had a really great time at The Alphen, such a buzz, and I look forward to going back and meeting friends for a glass of wine!
