I recently had a magnificent stay at the picturesque De Hoop Nature Reserve! There were about 30 to 40 whales in the bay, which was so special to see, but come September, you can expect up to 300.
Nature lovers will be in heaven with the beautiful walks along the coast, or cycling round the reserve amongst the baboons.
We stayed in one of the house as you can see in the distance, but what I love about The De Hoop Collection is that there is such a variety of accommodation, from camping and rondawels to a magnificent manor house.
Our room above and below, the Manor House. De Hoop is a beautiful location for a wedding, and only 3 hours from Cape Town.
Sweet little rondawels over looking the vlei. So tastefully done, clean and organized.
The rondawels are definitely a summer visit must with the outdoor shower under the stars.
If like we experienced, the weather is hideous, there is a cosy lounge and fire place, bar and restaurant to cosy up in.
I’d definitely love to go back in September, perhaps when the weather is warmer and the whales are out in abundance! A really special spot to get away from it all!
