I’m always excited when there are new developments at Skinny laMinx. (Watch out for products in my Kitchen Before & After Reveal coming soon!) Not to mention my home is full of Skinny prints! Skinny laMinx has just launched a 2013/2014 Lookbook which is as enticing as ever!
Themes include:
Celebrate:
When the sun is out, there’s always reason to celebrate. Ice cubes clink in a jug of iced tea standing on a Pebble print melamine tray from Skinny laMinx, while beach bats and towels are unpacked from the Skinny Tote and the first scent of woodsmoke from the braai curls through the warm air.
Maxi-Minimal:
Although time was short, and Charl knew he should get the wine chilled in time for his guests, he paused in the hallway to straighten the Vessels fine art print on the wall, enjoying the way the simple sketched lines offset the carefully curated selection of stoneware and interesting objets on the hall table. A beep from his phone reminded him of the time, and he rushed to the kitchen to don his Brancusi Stripe cross-back apron from Skinny laMinx. It was time to star in a sushi-making session.
Acid Pastel:
She had no idea pregnancy would make her such a control freak, but from the moment the scan results showed a girl, Saskia had been dreading the vicious-pink Barbie-wrought onslaught that seemed the inevitable consequence of a daughter in the house. But with 3 weeks to go, she was feeling confident: the sharp zing of lemon, and the gentle touch of grey that she’d brought into Ella’s room with Skinny laMinx’s Orla and Flower Dreams cushions did a brilliant job of giving pink a sassy jolt that she hoped would give her baby a head-start in the style stakes.
Oh My Garden:
The view of Table Mountain was great, but there were acres of city blocks to navigate in order to get there. Having left her beloved rambling garden for this city loft was tougher than Polly had thought it would be. But, never one to mope, she’d already hit on a way of bringing the outdoors in: Her succulents collection was looking smart in their Soft Buckets from Skinny laMinx, and the green Pincushion Tea Towel hanging in the kitchen marked a fresh start to this new chapter.
Afro Scandi:
For hours now, “a cup of tea!” had been all Merrel could think of, and she sank into her nest of Skinny laMinx cushions with a grateful sigh. Through the steam from her teacup, she looked at how the Woodpile print offset the woven patterns in the pile baskets she’d brought back for her store, but noting that the clear colours and clean prints were a far cry from those dusty market streets. The tea had restored her, and she moved to her desk to write a Reindeer Herds Postcard, thanking her hosts in far-off lands.
Happy Home:
“Happy birthday, Dad!” The twins were waiting in the kitchen, excitedly concealing something behind their backs, slices of birthday cake at the ready on Rough Diamond placemats at the kitchen table. “We got you a pet… no, pets for your birthday!”
Sello’s heart sank. The kids had been lobbying for a puppy for ages, but dogs were not his thing. With a flourish, the twins presented his gift, and Sello’s chuckle was tinged with relief: A set of Domestic Animal cards from Skinny laMinx was exactly the kind of mantelpiece menagerie with which he could cope.

My favourite has to be the maxi-minimal theme. I’m trying to go for more of a minimal approach myself and love the clean lines and graphic shapes in this collection. Die for the “bowls” design cushion in “lemon slice”. So fresh!
