Harry goes way back when it comes to being a dear family friend. He and my dad started out together in the ad world! Harry has shot for the likes of Nike & The New York Times and done portraits of familiar faces such as Paul McCartney.

 1. ) How did your business/work/passion? How was this idea born and what lead you to do what you’re doing now?

 Started at Port Elizabeth School of Art in 1968 then grew once I opened a studio in Cape Town

 2.) Tell us about your morning routine. Any specific rituals / productivity aspects etc

 Wake up, make some coffee, have a bowl of oat meal, switch on my laptop, check my emails and start making calls to parts of the world that are already awake.

 Music

Always keep an open mind, expect the unexpected and be ready to shoot it or eat it…..

 Not being able to bake a cake

 Clean and organized but colourful. Hate chaos and lack of planning….. Do not invite shit into your life

 Think big + Trust but verify + Do not talk a big game, do it!

 Chuck Magione’s “Children of Sanchez” a classic album

 Word of mouth by people that are movers and shakers

 Keep dreaming and executing one dream at a time

Harry’s advice to young photographers – “always send the elevator back down to the ground floor so someone else can get to the top” – Love that and it can be applied in every discipline!
