Just back from a week in Sicily and I feel like I was away for a month. The trick, no wifi – ok, and the fact that Sicily is simply magical! Our first stop was Terre Torri Country Estate to break a long drive to my godmother’s house in Gallodoro.

The next morning, breakfast in the post-card-perfect-town of Cefalu.

And here we are, ascending up the narrow pass to the hillside village of Gallodoro near Taormina.

The view from our balcony – I love the sound of church bells, but this bell went off every 15 minutes. Talk about a sleepless first night, but eventually it became unnoticed. Below, the view at night from the tiny bar in Gallodoro.

And the misty morning version.

Just loved this quaint little retreat of a town – sipping prosecco and eating amazing cheeses and cold meats, thoroughly enjoying siesta time post lunchtime on the terrace. Why does the whole world not adopt siesta time!? Part 2 coming soon xx
