We’ve been fortunate to experience a lot of Europe lately – as it’s now on our doorstep – but my heart has been longing for a good bit of African flavour! And so, I’m so excited to be taking Harry on his first Safari, to Samara Private Game Reserve.

Set against a dramatic mountain backdrop in a secluded location, the platform comprises a bespoke four-poster bed with draped mosquito net. A seating area looks out over the river where wildlife descends to drink. A canvas roof provides shelter in case of inclement weather. Creature comforts are taken care of with luxurious sheets, mohair blankets, dressing gowns and bathroom facilities. A truly ‘Karoo’ luxury sleep-out experience – lit by the twinkling stars overhead.

There are also loads of activities available from game drives to walking safaris and mountain biking – plus, lots of fun for the kids with the “Funny Five” and more.

I’m so looking forward to 3 days of R&R, bush calls, wide open spaces and watching Harry’s face when he sees all the animals, not to mention the big landrovers! I’ll be blogging all about our stay – so watch this space! (+- Aug/Sept)
