MY DESIGN SERIES

So, not sure if I’ve mentioned, but we’ve been with my folks for the last month while we renovate, and we probably have another month to go. As much as I love them and we are getting really well fed, one needs to escape for some alone time every now and then. Wanting to create a beautifully unique space, we decided to escape for the weekend to get inspired.

We decided on some exotic inspiration and went to stay at The Coral International Hotel.

What I loved about staying here and facing the sea and Bo-Kaap as apposed to Table Mountain (which you can, and it’s magnificent of course) is that I felt like I was in another country and that I really had escaped. How lovely is the wall paper below mirroring our view.

I really want to re-do our pool one day, hope I can do something like this.

I was so inspired buy the Indian and Arabian influenced restaurant, Mezbaan. I loved the soft greys and blues with the incredible coloured glass lights, very Moroccan looking. The food was delicious. Poppadoms and condiments await your arrival and delicious naan breads and curry’s are to be enjoyed. I’d definitely recommend and go back here. The only catch, if like me you enjoy a glass of wine with your meal, the restaurant and hotel do not serve alcohol. So have a toot before you come, or if you’re staying over, have a glass of bubbly in the privacy of your room.

The mocktails are delicious though. I had the most incredible lemonade and fresh minty magic of a mocktail. So refreshing! Lovely after a hot curry.

After lots of exotic food and drinks, a hot bath with the stress-relieving hydrating bath oil and relaxing Body Cream from Molton Brown ( and amazingly fluffy white duvet and pillows) sent me to decor dream world.

I am also on the quest for the perfect free standing bath.

The morning was met with delicious coffee after a great night sleep! Refreshed and re-inspired! Yay!
