Tilting

I had a wonderful little “Aha moment” in the holidays, listening to a podcast as we were driving up to Hermanus. My first year of being a work-from-home-mom was a lot more challenging than I had expected – trying to balance work, play, family, the house and making sure Harry doesn’t stick his finger in a plug or something. Dividing your attention doesn’t really make you efficient at anything – rather, I was left feeling frustrated most of the year. I was living the dream (my dream), doing a job I love and starting a family, but I couldn’t give either the attention they deserved.

Then, my holiday just lightened when I listened to this podcast on tilting, rather than trying to balance everything perfectly! Give it a listen – it just makes total sense.

This year, I shall practice tilting!

  1. Just listened to this podcast and love that idea of tilting. Working for yourself and having kids is SUCH a juggle and often feels like something we never quite master, I think the trick is to work towards the structure, but then being ok with not mastering it most of the time 🙂
