Noise, iPads & iInspiration

So it’s taken hard work, lots of thinking and time, to REALLY admit to myself, my tech gadgets are causing too much noise in my life. As hard as I think I’ve been trying, I still take about 500 photo’s of Harry a day. No wonder his smiles have changed to, grimaces and getting up and leaving the moment we’re in. Me, losing that precious moment! Now don’t get me wrong – I LOVE my gorgeous-gold iPhone and there’s definitely a place for it! Imagine popping out to the shops, having to pack your calculator,camera computer, diary, calendar, note book – I mean? Our phones are life-saving in simplifying our lives and can be super efficient, organisational tools! It’s all the social media alerts & distractions that ruin things for me – I find my best mornings are the ones where Harry and I have finished breakfast together and I’ve not yet picked up my phone. In fact, on a Saturday, my husband and I now do a digital detox. No phones from sunrise to sunset. It’s amazing how much breathing space and clarity it creates! A habit I hope we keep up!

Now a tech gadget I then do allow for times like these, is the iPad! I’ve taken off all e-mail, FB, twitter or any work related notifications and use it purely as a leisure tool – browsing the web for research, Pinterest for recipes or Instagram just for a good dose of inspiration!
