Portugal Round Up
We stayed in this tiny little surf shack, just outside of Ericeira. We had great fun walking down to the beach, having sun downers at the little cafe bars, dining under the stars around the fire pit and listening to the roar of the ocean.
Portugal is bit of a surfing mecca (understatement!) with beach after beach of loads of rolling swell. Most of the beaches have a little cafe- bar on them like the one below.
We discovered this awesome little roof top wine bar in Ericeira serving delicious tapas and wines by the glass.
I did a little carpet shopping, luckily for my husband, before the wine!
We did a little day trip to the most picturesque little hill side village, Sintra. Would love to go back and stay there, just strolling the quaint little streets and eating more of these incredible pasteis de nata (Portuguese custard tarts) in the sun.
Lisbon was also a real highlight for me. The vintage shop fronts, patterned tiles covering whole buildings, out of the ordinary shops and of course, the famous 28 Tram. I need to go back!
Next it was down south to the Algarve region where we stay at this idyllic little spot! Check out the full blog post on it here.
Found this tiny little grocer in Alzejur – just love all the vintage packaging.
One thing we noticed is that Portugal is like camper van central – the surf culture is at large and so is the camper van. We saw some pretty interesting things rolling out them! 🙂
Some shopping . . .
Loved this road side ceramic store. Could have taken loads of light pendants home!
We definitely plan to go back! My husband to surf, me to shop 🙂
Sigh, and we’re still arguing about who owns this backpack – I think I’ve lost. Check them out at Thandana.co.za.
