Become a decleor ambassador

After experiencing a Decleor Facial last year, I thought what girl wouldn’t want to become a Decléor ambassador and experience natural beauty all year long! So I was thrilled when Decléor approached me with their latest campaign, having just turned 30 myself, also striving for a  healthy and natural looking complexion.

“DECLÉOR is all about revealing the natural expression of your beauty and giving you radiant skin.”– Julie Palmary, Marketing Manager Decléor South Africa.

Decléor and myself, Kim Gray, are looking for a 30-something ambassador that will receive a year’s supply of Decléor skincare and try Decléors newly launched products worth R15,000. Exciting!

So, what type of products can our 30-something ambassador expect:

For women in their 30s, the first signs of ageing are always a special concern, especially since the main causes of ageing are generally environmental, such as sun exposure, pollution, lack of sleep, stress and lifestyle choices. The first signs of ageing include the appearance of expression lines and lack of radiance.

That’s why Decléor offers a comprehensive collection of products designed to target these first signs of ageing for women in their 30s. Here are five ways you can combat first signs of ageing with Decléor.

1.) Aromessence™ Neroli Essential Serum: This elixir of 100% pure and natural Essential Oils is specially formulated to comfort and treat skin exposed to daily stress because of its natural affinity with the skin. R555 for 15ml. Special note: The Serum comes in a 15ml bottle and contains 180 drops. This can last you up to 3 months (2 drops per
application).

2. )Expression de L’Age Radiance Smoothing Cream: Specially formulated for women in their thirties, this delicious moisturizer smoothes fine lines and expression lines and helps retain your natural, youthful radiance. R645 for 50ml.

3.) Expression de L’Age Relaxing Eye Cream: Specially formulated for women in their thirties, this light, delicate eye cream is easily absorbed to banish dark circles,
tiredness and early wrinkles. R540 for 15ml.

4.) Expression de L’Age Smoothing Roll-On: Instantly de-wrinkles and smoothes the skin. Formulated with volumizing hyaluronic acid to plump up wrinkles on the forehead and the eye and lip contours. Wrinkles and fine lines are relaxed for 69% of women.* R475 for 20ml.

5.) Aroma Night Neroli Essential Night Balm: This 100% natural, preservative-free balm takes advantage of the changes in the skin’s nighttime biological rhythms to deliver an aromatic night-care treatment for all skin types. The lush, melt-in texture, when smoothed onto the face, dissolves perfectly into the skin. R450 for 15ml and R695 for 30ml.

How to become an ambassador:

Upload a photo of yourself to the Decleor Facebook Page HERE and tell Decléor what natural beauty means to you.

For those Kim Gray fans that would prefer Decléor to take their picture, you can book a time with a Decléor consultant in selected stores (See list of stores below) , and bring along your cameras. The Decléor consultant will then take their picture after treating them to an Express facial and make-up touch up (make-up touch up is optional). This way you get to experience the Decléor brand and get a natural looking picture. Please note that the Kim Gray fans need to then upload their picture and enter themselves on Decléors fan page.

The competition will end 9th April 2012 whereby  5 runner-up ladies will be revealed on the 2nd April.

The runner-up ladies will win Decléor products of their choice to the value of R1,000. In return, we ask that the winner and runner-up ladies review the products and allow us to feature their reviews. The winner will need to allow us to feature her skin (before and after) in a series of Kim Gray advertisements and on Decléor’s Facebook Fan Page.

Winner announced: 9 April and open to S.A. only

Good luck ladies! xx

Casa tiles

I’m so excited by the launch of Casa Tiles, a new venture started by Kundra of The Moroccan Warehouse. I’ve seen some of the tiles but need to go back – I simply can’t decide, as I’m renovating our 2nd bathroom, another exciting project I can’t wait to blog about in My Design Series. Watch this space!

The different patterns can be made up in different colour combinations.

Go and take a visit, directions and details below. I can’t wait to go back!

Beauty feature friday: Happy hair

This week Shelene of Tanaz gives us a few tips on colouring at home, something many have done, unsuccessfully at that.

· If the colour says five minutes it means five minutes do not extend the time

· Always use two boxes of colour so that you do not have a patchy look

· Prefably get someone else to apply this colour.

· If the colour is not correct rather go to a salon to correct it. .

· If you want to play with colour then you could put one shade lighter through your crown and at the nape of your neck a darker colour

Great tips, but I’m still not confident, that’s why I see Shelene 🙂

So, what’s new?

For those wanting to keep coloured locks looking lustrous, healthy and shiny, Wella Professionals launches its new Brilliance Range, replacing the old Lifetex and High Hair Products.

The range consists of a shampoo (R150) for both coarse and fine hair, a conditioner (175) and mask (R181), all containing diamond dust, which helps protect your hair colour from fading and to gain vibrancy.

Following the announcement of music sensation Katy Perry as the new face of the brand, ghd launches 3 new sexy stylers.

ghd says:

“The ghd Iconic Eras of Style collection is available in three variations – Glamour, Boho Chic and New Wave:

Inspired by these eras, ghd introduces the new Iconic Eras of Style limited edition collection. The collection gives a modern day twist to a series of fabulous fashion decades, making 50’s Glamour, 70’s Boho Chic and 80’s New Wave must have looks for 2011. With an era to suit all, dedicated followers of fashion can recreate their favourite catwalk looks as seen in the Spring/ Summer 2011 shows with help of a get-the-look book.

  • Glamour: The Glamour set comes with a perfectly elegant styler clutch bag in black satin as well as a step-by-step guide to help you create the stylish glamour wave, a look inspired by the ‘Retro Prim’ styling seen across the Spring/ Summer 2011 catwalks. The luxurious plates of the ghd Gold Classic styler will smooth your hair for an ultra shiny result as seen in shows such as Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Versace who displayed sophisticated hair looks inspired by the late 50’s, early 60’s era and nodded to the Mad Men trend.

  • Boho Chic: The 70s proved to be a big hit on the Spring/ Summer 2011 runway, with designers opting for a bohemian beauty look.  The Boho Chic set provides you with the perfect tools including the step-by-step guide to help you create the soft waves seen on celebrities such as Nicole Richie and Sienna Miller. Included is a cinnamon brown, tasseled clutch to complete your bohemian look.

  • New Wave: Influenced by this season’s key trend of colour blocking, the New Wave set celebrates a departure from convention and makes its own fashion rules. The rounded barrel of the ghd Gold Classic styler makes it easy to create gorgeous bouncy curls and the step-by-step get-the-look book will give you an easy to follow guide to this bold, sassy style.  The collection features a black and gold studded clutch bag which takes notes from the Spring/ Summer 2011 catwalks of Zac Posen and Jean Paul Gaultier.”

The stylers retail for R2280 each.

Phillip Kinglsey launches the new Moisture Extreme Shampoo and Conditioner for extremely porous hair and is brilliant for ethnic hair and tight curls. I actually tested these out on a recent trip to the Transkei. Loved them for their packaging. They are so travel friendly in their tubes.

Loving this product. You have an exfoliator for your face, so what about your scalp? This Scalp Mask is an intensive scalp treatment that softens scaling and moisturize the scalp, works as an anti-inflammatory and is stimulating and cooling to sooth any flaking or itching. I suffer from Psoriasis when I’m stressed, this month this may be my life saver.

Hope you get to let your hair down tonight! xx

Wine and dine

Design Sponge always puts together the best series. Loving this series of dining areas.

WOOLWORTHS WEDNESDAYS

I’m really excited to introduce a new series on the Kim Gray Blog! Every Wednesday I’ll be bringing you Woolworths Wednesdays (AKA WWW). I’ll be taking you behind the scenes at Woolworths, keeping you in the fashion know, showcasing new ranges and designs and sharing with you my favourite Woolworths picks! To kick off the WWW series, we celebrate South Africa.

After the success of the World Cup and a haute few days at Fashion Week, local talents has been celebrated on the design front. And so it should be!

Woolworths is celebrating local talent with the continuation of  the Woolworths SA Designers collection. It will feature fashions by selected guest designers for each season. The summer 2010 line-up features Lalesso, Sway and Thulare Monareng

Images: 1.) Thulare Monareng 2&5.) Suga Suga, 3.) Sway 4&6.) Lalesso

Says Woolworths head of womenswear, Trevor Perren, “The SA Designers at Woolworths initiative celebrates local, authentic designs. Over the years it has given us the opportunity to create a platform which gives talented South African designers the recognition they richly deserve. We’re very excited about being able to make the work of these up-and-coming local designers accessible to a wider audience.”

“Sway is noted for its hand-drawn, hand-printed African graphics, while Lalesso offers a range of vibrantly coloured prints with a Kenyan influence. Thulare Monareng’s designs reflect her own life story and are a fusion of the beauty, artistry and vibrancy of Africa, Europe and America.” Says Woolworths.
