My Home: Home Decor Shoot
Eeek so my styling is rusty – especially with a baby crawling around shoot equipment etc – so excuse the exposed cord or skew books! Still lots I want to do/change, but as you’ve heard over the months, I’ve slowly been changing up things around the house with my love for Moroccan & Scandi design – and I’ve been able to work with some incredible local talent (and international) Here it goes!

Win with Graeme Bettles Design
Cape Town design house, Graeme Bettles Design has launched the latest in their character lamp series. Following in the success of “The Sitting Lamp”, they’ve launched the latest in the collection, aptly called “The Shy Lamp”. (R1200)
The Shy Lamp was inspired and derived from the human form. “I wanted to find a way to merge the familiar with the unfamiliar. When you first see the lamp, you can immediately identify with a human disposition, an emotion – a familiarity.” At some point in your life you hid behind a parent’s leg or blushed in the company of a stranger” said Graeme. “We wanted to evoke that relationship between the product and the owner – rather than settle on aesthetic value. For us, that is a magical place to be playing and deeply embedded in our design ethos.”
The Shy lamp is made from solid beech wood and is sold with a custom made black or white lampshade. At 400mm high, it is suitable as a desk lamp. Locally sourced and manufactured in Cape Town, the Shy lamp is available with free delivery at graemebettlesdesign.com.
