Patio before & after

When we moved into our house we pulled out all the bamboo reeds from the patio roof as they were a little worse for ware, and screeded the patio which was bricked before. So I was very excited to do a very over-due, refresh of our patio recently.

Sticks from The Pole Yard are slotted in.

Then I rescue two old Mr Price lanterns from our wedding and get busy! I’ve sprayed them in Plascon Perfect Finish Gloss White. I used 3 cans for the 2 lanters. I could have probably used less but I did spray them in the wind. ( Stupid but you know the feeling when you want something done NOW!)

And Voilà! Simple, yet effective.

Guest room before & after: Part 1

Last week I hinted at a new before and after (read it here.)  So my guest room outside has been very neglected as I’ve just not had the time and much needed creative injection to get to it. Originally terracotta tiles when we bought our house, I painted the tiles (which Plascon does not recommend) white. My fresh idea was soon crushed, with white, obviously being a nightmare to maintain. Duh!

Anyway, I know Plascon does not recommend painting floor tiles, but I needed a desperate quick fix and with my new Moroccan Grass Matt Runners, I can now maintain the floor better.

There’s nothing like the smell of a fresh coat of paint to make things feel brand new and fresh.

Ah – walls painted in Plascon Cashmere Plush Matt White, create an all inspiring white canvas for me to play with.

Plascon Grey FPT7 Floor Paint transforms my dirty white floors to create a graphic, bold, base to the room.

Plascon Grey Stoep Enamel finishes off the rooms entrance with its contrasting, glossy lacquered texture.

My design series

So, day two of bathroom renovations. I can’t believe how much bigger this tiny bathroom feesl just having knocked out the shower doors. Now we’ll  just have 2 half walls that will be screeded white. Hopefully tomorrow my ON TAP pieces will be revealed.

In other news. I finally got my Lula Fabrics Curtains made. (Thanks mom!) Well one half for now anyway. Love this sheer linen fabric. Just softens the room beautifully.

So we moved our guest room outside as we’re going to be renovating the en-suit bathroom and changed the inside spare room to our home office.

Loving my new frame from Mark Hilltout that I spoke about a while back – see here if you missed it. I’m also absoultely smitten with our new stripey rug from Gonsenhausers. I’ve been after a stripey rug for ages. See some of the other styles they have below.

I’ve also just discovered Print Wild  which I’m really excited about. The site is super easy to use. Upload your favourite pics and get them printed on canvas. The quality is excellent and I’ve had a great experience ordering prints as gifts etc…  See here for more details.

So that’s the study for now. Who knows what might be added or changed in the near future 🙂
