I am so jealous of Pia Jane Bijkerk, Amsterdam based stylist’s project, “My heart wonders” Anyone that has been to my home will know I have loads of hearts around the various rooms!
Pia explains: ”
a collection of subtle hearts in special spaces is a collective book project where ANYONE can create and submit a photograph. This is a book of inspiration with a twist – created by all of you, for all of you.
Each photograph must display a tiny heart shape within an interior setting, and the heart shape must be made or found by you. This is a book that will showcase artists and creatives from all corners of the globe – filled with inspiring photographs, it will be one of the most beautiful and freshest reference guides for interior and design lovers worldwide. ” So check out Pia’s blog if you have an hearty photographs.
I found Pia’s blog very inspiring and she has a great eye for styling beautiful still lifes.
Being on a complete budget, saving for my trip to the East, I have had to be creative in reinventing old clothes and embracing them and making them “new!” Accessories work a charm, but why not go for buttons – replace the grey buttons on your old grey coat with some coloured buttons or add a lace frill! Velvet ribbon is also a great detail trend on clothes at the moment!
I loved these lace print buttons I found on style files by designer laura Walker. They can be bought on glimpse.com.

I thought these images where just beautiful by Stylist Rebecca Thus I found on orange beautiful . And it’s just folding paper and adding ribbons. Great Idea for a shoot or for wedding decor!
I found beautiful ribbon locally at Bargain Corner in Wynberg – 021 762 0648. There is much fun to be had in this little shop!
I am doing a shoot next week on stationery and found www.flowermill.co.za
I loved these cards and gift tags, and Deborah from Flowermill was so helpful and responsive! I am looking frward to the wrapping paper she is going to send me to cover files and boxes for the shoot!
Another shoot I thoroughly enjoyed! These are not the final image that were chosen to go to print – the styling is a bit more simple and I guess – what was briefed! But then we got to play a bit in the end. Fiona Gentry went crazy on the hair and I got to accessorize to my hearts desire! These are the pics I liked best for obvious reasons…
