September is Dental Month and so I thought this information from Aquafresh rather useful and interesting.
“In the rush to get to work or school on time, most of us take just 45 seconds to brush our teeth. However, Aquafresh has proved that brushing for two minutes, twice a day, removes 26 percent more plaque and lets teeth absorb nutrients like fluoride in toothpastes such as Aquafresh All-in-One Protection.”
So speaking of time, I am loving the new Aquafresh Interdental Toothbrush they sent me that was inspired by dental floss.
Although 73 percent* of plaque damage occurs between our teeth, many people don’t floss.(blush, yes I’m one) This innovative brush, which was actually inspired by dental floss, features unique interdental bristles interspersed with longer, very fine micro filaments that reach up to 50 percent* deeper into the narrow spaces between teeth.
I’m rather excited about this! Time saving and cleaner teeth for R39.99

Goodness in a tin! Wow, these are such nifty products. Badger Balms are great for gifts, mind, body and soul. Badger Balms are USDA Certified organic and contain extra virgin olive oil, beeswax, aloe vera and essential oil of Sweet Birch—a traditional New England herbal remedy.
I’m loving this new to the range, sweet, citrus fragrances Cheerful Mind Balm. Happiness in a tin. I keep it at my desk and when ever I feel a little despaired, I rub it on my temples and now, when ever I leave the house too.
I am really impressed with the Nutmeg and Shea body balm. I’ve had terrible eczema and my elbows have been suffering…dry and chapped. I’ve been rubbing the Nutmeg and Shea Body Balm with vitamin A & E on them for 3 days now and it’s disappeared, completely. How happy am I? It’s got a lovely thick waxy texture and feels super rich and moisturizing. I’m hooked. I think this would be great on heels! I’m going to give that a bash now that it’s spring and I have to bring out the little pigs again. There is definitely a Badger Balm for everybody.
You can find Badger Balms at select chemists and Edgars Stores.
YAY, it’s competition time again, and with Spring nearing, what better time to give away a blossom inspired Spring Fragrance and “Because love is good and makes the world better” says The Body Shop, and I couldn’t agree more! LOVE ETC is the Body Shop’s new signature fragrance. With the main ingredient being Jasmine form Egypt combined with notes of pear, neroli and bergamot, this fragrance will have you IN – LOVE ETC… LOVE ETC starts at R150 for 30ml and has a complimenting body wash and body lotion in the range too.

I’ve been dying to get my nails on some Essie for a while now. I just love their super bright shades! I got to test out this electric cool colour – Perky Purple from the Neon Range. This colour is so much fun and something I’m not sure I’d previously have bought, but trying it on..I’m hooked for a little “In your face colour!” Something I enjoyed about the Essie Range is the thin brush, it really helps for easy and mess free painting.
My lovely make-up artist friend Jade recommends:
1.) Ask your manicurist for “The Squoval”. A shape somewhere between square and oval. A shape that suits pretty much everyone.
2.) A base coat will prolong your manicure and prevent your nails from staining.
3.)Keep your nail colour looking fresh by applying a top coat a couple times a week.
See more nail tips by Jade here, here and here! (That should keep you busy)
So to follow up on Jade’s tips, I tried out Essie’s Protein Base Coat

I’ve never used a base coat unless going for a professional manicure. This base coat is wonderful and really helps prevent that Perky Purple stain my nails. What I like about this base coat, is if you feel nails need a little rest from your glossy lacquers, this base coat will feed your nails while leaving a natural slightly pearly finish to nails for a healthy looking shine.

Essie Good To Go leaves a wonderful shine on nails and is my new best friend since I always paint my nails just before leaving the house, and tend to ding my wet polish on car keys, the front door or digging in my handbag. Speed up the drying process instantly with Essie Good To Go! For more nail protecting products, see here.
Nothing like a little nail colour to bring you right on trend and to update your look. Short neat nails always look best with bright or dark colours. Essie can be found and select chemists. Enjoy painting..
