This is the outdoor area designed by David Strauss for his client in Voelklip, Hermanus. David took his cue from the architecture of the home repeating the slatted motive using the ‘Mood’ dining table and chairs by Tribu. Even small outdoor spaces can ooze style. In this compact patio by M-Interiors, Kettal’s ‘Park Life’ range is used to great effect. This outdoor dining area may seem compact but it has everything you may need from prep bowl, built-in braai and clever storage. The marble topped dining table and the large floor tiles add to the sense of simple sophistication whilst the sliding screens offer both visual interest and protection from the elements.

Marlanteak had such fun working with some of SA’s top decorators and designers on this competition that they’re planning to role it out again next year. So watch this space for more exciting outdoor decorating inspiration from Marlanteak.
